Autism Statistics in Iran and the world?
According to WHO, one in 160 children has an autism spectrum disorder. Based on epidemiological studies conducted over the past 50 years, the prevalence of ASD appears to be increasing globally. There are many possible explanations for this apparent increase, including improved awareness, expansion of diagnostic criteria, better diagnostic tools, and improved reporting.
The number of people with autism in Iran is close to the global statistics. Approximately one in 150 children in Iran have autism spectrum disorder. It is estimated that 1% of the total population lives with this condition.
