Synergy Event; 20+3

The association always strives to play an influential role in reducing the social, economic and cultural damage of this disorder throughout the country by raising public awareness and achieving an effective and continuous presence in the atmosphere of governmental organizations and bodies through increased national and international cooperation

About the Event:

This event was created in order to raise public awareness, educate and empower parents and people with autism spectrum disorders as well as therapists to demand and receive special support from the authorities. 20+3 means that Three organizations (the welfare organization, the Special education organization (SEO), and the Ministry of Health and Medical Education (MOHME)) are directly and 20 organizations indirectly related to autism are participating.

At this event, the demands and wishes of the families were expressed directly, and the officials present at the event are thinking about ways to improve and solve the challenges in various areas related to people with autism and their families.

Topics

  • Presenting a report to the autism families on the measures taken at country level
  • Facilitating close-communication between families’ and officials
  • Create space for brainstorming to find solutions to the challenges in the different areas of insurance, treatment, education, care and other social services.

Practical Measures:

  • Development of the «Omid houses» under the supervision of the Autism Association in cooperation with the municipality
  • Increasing the budget for special and incurable patients
  • Registration of the special code for autism with the emergency organization
  • Implementation of the system for missing children with autism in cooperation with the Law Enforcement Command of the Islamic Republic of Iran (FARAJA)
  • Identifying 3,500 homes with people on the autism spectrum in collaboration with the organization
  • Securing homes with autistic children in cooperation with the fire brigade
  • Providing psychological courses and counselling for families in cooperation with the Welfare Organization, the Ministry of Health and Medical Education and the Ministry of Education.

Special help for autism patients and their families by signing a memorandum with the state organization for crisis management.

Challenges and Demands:

  • Allocation of funds for the autism spectrum
  • Examining the diversity of autism and the problems presented to these people in court by the judiciary
  • The need for entry of the judiciary to the challenges presented by autism spectrum families, such as the issue of custody and guardianship.
  • Paying the nursing fee in autism spectrum.
  • Suggesting the use of GPS and identification based on the pupils and fingerprints of these patients.
  • The Necessity for legislators to consider the autism community when passing laws and regulations
  • The necessity of using electronic chips for autism spectrum Creating and speeding up the system to cover autism spectrum insurance
