On World Mental Health Day, the Iran Autism Association joins the global community in recognizing the importance of mental health in the workplace, especially for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum. While mental health is critical to overall well-being, the workplace can be particularly challenging for people with autism. Sensory sensitivities, differences in social communication and dealing with workplace norms can impact their mental health.
The IAA advocates for an inclusive work environments where autistic people can thrive. We believe that mental health in the workplace is important for everyone and we are committed to policies and practices that promote the wellbeing of all employees, including those with autism.
We are working to achieve this:
On this World Mental Health Day, we call on employers, policy makers and the public to prioritize mental health in the workplace for all people, including those on the autism spectrum. Working together, we can create workplaces where everyone feels supported, valued and able to reach their full potential.
